I've used the Google Now Launcher on the device since I started testing with absolutely 0 issues. It is only fair to review the phone as it comes with the software installed. I'm sure in the final review there would be a brief mention of, "an aftermarket launcher is clearly a must with this phone.
After unlocking phone what will you do? Any Unofficial CM Nougat? The need to root the phone to get a simple thing like an app drawer makes it a no go right off the bat but I would assume a 3rd party launcher would fix that.
The hardware has been so solid, very impressed. And the unlockable bootloader and Nova friendly software definitely make it a win for the money. Launchers will still work on it but we'll have to wait and see if they make this phone dev friendly.
If unlocking the bootloader is very important to you, you may have to return it. I'm hoping they'll make it an option like they have on previous phones. While true I guess some people would prefer saving some dollars and doing a little work themselves.

After testing few brands recently, I end up getting Moto Z Play. This is an amazing phone with sd card, mini jack, stock Android, Moto screen and outstanding battery life. I own the Le Max 2. Simply go thru the fingerprint setup with your chosen finger.
Then, when complete, add another fingerprint using the same finger. Second, I can attest to getting over hours of screen on time every day. That was my first thought. I had the same issue with fingerprint recognition on my honor 5x.
I used LeEco Le 1s in the past, excellent value for money, good build quality. Ditched it caz of that freaky, sluggish and slow software. Its truly awful and takes alot of time getting used to, truly bottle-necked by the utter rubbish software.

At least there are alternatives for audio. There are no alternatives for increasing storage capacity because the phone lacks an SD card slot. This is clearly the more significant missing feature, not the lack of an audio jack.

That's not entirely true. There is some value here Yes, value in heavy skinned software. The bootloader is just as easily unlocked as the OnePlus 3 so don't give me that shit. It's already got root and TWRP so It won't have the same support from xda devs as OnePlus I can accept that.
